Discover the perfect teas for summer!
Have you ever enjoyed tea cold? The "cold brew" trend is also becoming increasingly popular in the tea sector! Cold brew teas are a delicious, refreshing and low-calorie alternative to other cold drinks and are very easy to prepare. So summer is also tea season!
Ice tea vs. Cold Brew
Ice tea
The basis for iced teas is usually black tea, which is brewed hot and cooled in the fridge or with ice cubes. The hot infusion gives iced tea a slightly bitter flavour, which is softened by the addition of sugar.
Cold Brew tea
Cold brew teas are typically based on fruit teas, which release their flavour more intensively when brewed cold. The low temperature means that hardly any bitter substances are released, so the tea does not need to be sweetened with sugar. The low-calorie and tasty alternative to conventional soft drinks.
Not all teas are suitable for cold brewing, so follow the manufacturer's preparation instructions before cold brewing. Cold brew teas are heated during production to kill any bacteria and germs.
