Quality & responsibility
We have been on familiar terms with our tea suppliers from all over the world for over 50 years. We attach particular importance to the careful selection of growing areas, growers and tea gardens as well as to the inspection of all ingredients used for our teas. In addition, we maintain close partnerships with our suppliers throughout the world. On site we convince ourselves regularly of the harvests and ensure in this way the quality of our raw materials. In the process, a cultivation concept as holistic as possible and considerate of people, nature and environment is especially important to us. Our teas in organic quality are refined by our product development using only selected ingredients. We are increasingly concerned with the topic of sustainability and hence since 2019 we have one more certification related to this topic. You wish to learn more about this topic? Our organic teas are certified
Organic cultivation is a particularly resource-conserving as well as environmental-friendly kind of cultivation and is guided by the principle of sustainability. The main idea is economy in accordance with nature. It supports preservation of the ecosystems and biodiversity as well as the protection of the soil. Moreover one supports the cleanliness of the water.
Therefore buyers of organic products should be able to rely on products really being organic if it is written on the label. In order to clarify, the legislature created explicit conditions:
Labelling of pre-packed organic foodstuff with the EU organic logo, the corresponding inspection body’s code and a general statement of origin of ingredients has been mandatorily required since 01 July 2012. Producers, suppliers and warehouses are mainly obliged to these regulations but also processing industries and traders of organic products such as interTee must observe these guidelines.
For interTee this function is taken over by the Kiwa BCS Öko-Garantie GmbH (code number DE-ÖKO-001) which in 1992 was among the first companies to issue organic certificates in Germany and is an important authority for the execution of the EG organic regulation. Our common aim is the protection of the reliable, organic agriculture and with this finally the protection of the end consumer. Thus, you can enjoy your cup of tea in the future – for sure!
interTee is FSSC 22000 certified
In order to effectively implement our quality policy and vision, we have established a comprehensive, certified food safety system. This is based on the requirements of the FSSC 22000 standard, version 6, recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). The scope of our certification relates to the production and flavouring of tea and fruit/herbal tea blends and their packaging at our site in Norderstedt.
This certificate is applicable for the scope of Production (cleaning, cutting, mixing, flavouring) of tea and fruit / herbal tea blends and mixing of beverage powders and packaging thereof. Storage and goods receipt at Gutenbergring 49a, 22848 Norderstedt. Exclusion: Packaging of coffee.

Of course, the issue of sustainability is also an absolute priority for us and we have resolutely "continued to certify" in this area as well.
